"Since 2016 Mauren has been nurturing an evolving and frequently reactivated project made of a total environment which allows her to explore her large range of artistic forms. Mood Motel is an immersive installation staging the symbolic and emotional charge of an anonymous room located in a nonplace where anything can happen. Through this sophisticated device of objects, sounds, lighting, events and film sequences, the artist renews here her own experience of duplication. Beyond the inherent vacuousness, through a loss of references and social depersonalisation, the fantasy of a rebirth forges a new identity. While inviting us to experience the potential, she enriches this device throughout her presentations, transforming the exhibition space into a space of personal experimentation and deconstructing the room as the project evolves in time until its most minimal form."
